Eric is the founder and Exec Director of STEM Center of Excellence, Inc. With a passion for technology (even before PCs were a household word), he is as a retired IT Manager from UPS, Inc. Most recently, in his affiliation with the DMV hub of Defense STEM Education Consortium (DSEC), Eric is responsible for engaging and connecting DSEC partners with schools, community organizations that promote STEM education, and businesses that serve underrepresented and military communities. He proudly served in the U.S. Army as a Combat Signal Soldier and Paratrooper in the 197th Infantry and 11th Special Forces Group(A) in an active and reserve capacity. Eric was born and raised in Baltimore and is an alum of the Univ of Maryland College Park and a graduate of the University of Baltimore. His current focus is to support efforts of BmoreSTEM to establish a sustainable STEM Education Ecosystem in Baltimore and across Maryland. BmoreSTEM provides an opportunity for Eric to create a “Culture of Service and provide a Service to Humanity” in Maryland; something he learned and aspired to achieve over 30 years ago when he earned membership into Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. which subscribes to the same principle.
