Kumasi Vines is the Director of Career Readiness department for Baltimore City Public Schools. In this role, he oversees the career preparedness programming for City Schools K-12 students, including Career and Technical Education pathways, work-based learning opportunities, and overall exploration and exposure to post-secondary options and success.
Before joining City Schools, Mr. Vines was the Senior Director of Finance and Real Estate of a Washington, D.C. public charter school network where he oversaw all financial operations and the development and construction of all real estate assets. Mr. Vines previously served as the managing executive of the City of Baltimore’s municipal water utility which served over 1.8M regional with an operating and capital budget of over $800M. He also has served as the Chief of the City’s construction contractors and design consultants prequalification office.
Mr. Vines earned his B.A. in Economics and African-American Studies from Northwestern University. He was a Robert F. Toigo Foundation Fellow while earning is M.B.A from Columbia Business School. Mr. Vines also holds a M.Ed. through The Broad Residency Fellowship.
